2015: The Year of the #ReWedding

I mean...

My relationship with my husband is one of the most important things in my life. It is something I am most proud of because it showcases commitment, the effort that goes into active maintenance and the positive impact on life that can result from doing those things well. It is the ultimate example of partnership, compromise and collaboration. It has taught me more about myself, what I value in others and more about what I want to represent in the world than any other single influence aside from my immediate family. But beyond that, it is proof that the world is a little more interesting than I had once thought....

What I’ve Learned From Luxury Resale: Dries Van Noten

Dries Van Noten Quote

Since shopping on TheRealReal.com, I have learned a few valuable lessons, particularly when it comes to footwear: Americans have enormous feet. Sad, but true. I spend more money re-buying crappy shoes than I would purchasing one pair of high-quality shoes. Nordstrom has now sanctioned glasses as cool and Warby as eyewear purveyor of cool. I appreciate Nordstrom attempting to keep it fresh with the Pop-Up concept, and giving Director of Creative Projects, Olivia Kim, a job that all other e-commerce and merchandising professionals will lust after forever. I also like to call her by her unofficial title, Chief Imitator of Jenna Lyons. Jealousy aside, Warby Parker is great and for $95 including lenses, you...

A Cleanse-hater’s First Cleanse: 5 Days as a Raw Vegan

IMG_2570

Let me start by saying that I think juice cleanses are a load of bullshit and perhaps one of the most successful marketing ploys of modern culture. I am baffled that a trend so loosely rooted in nutritional fact has convinced so many people to part with hundreds of dollars to engage in a socially acceptable form of starvation. Additionally, I blame the social glorification of emaciated, scantily-clad Californian females subsisting solely on fresh air and over-priced juice for perpetuating my negative opinion on cleansing (and for ruining my Instagram feed). Since working at my new job that is within the natural and organic space, I have become more comfortable...
